Below is a really thoughtfully done analysis of the background designs I did for the gas station in the episode Bonnibel Bubblegum from season 9.

Uncivilized Elk is remarkably accurate with many thoughts I had when including the various details they discuss. And in that, for me as the background designer, it’s a really interesting and heartening insight into an audience perspective on my work. Doing backgrounds for Adventure Time was particularly satisfying as we were not only allowed, but encouraged to enrich scenes with specificity.
